Department of Inforamation Technology

                            The main objectives of the department of information technology is to help students to develop their skills in software and communication in order to gleam in their future prospects. To meet the growing demands in the field of science and technology in general and Information Technology in particular, the department was introduced in the year 2001 with dedicated, well qualified faculty, technical staffs. 

                 The department has started two years PG programme in the year 2007. The predominant goal of the department is to produce worldwide competitive, highly skilled, socially responsible information technology graduates who can work in highly challenging and dynamic knowledge-based industry and pursue higher education. Later the M.Phil. programmes was initiated in the year 2015. Besides these, the department offers Doctor of Philosophy(Ph.D)  from 2018 .

                 The department has fully equipped PG and Research lab and also the departments has a very good team of scholars working in the emerging trends  area of data compression, Image processing, IoT, Data science, cybersecurity , Networking  and Artificial intelligence. Our students are well placed in reputed software companies and Department is very active in organizing seminar, workshops and conferences. the programs offered in the department meet requirements of both the industry and academia.
